A great day with Oli at sundown

5 08 2011

To celebrate Oli’s 4th birthday we went to Sundown Adventure Land near Retford. For those that don’t know Sundown, it’s basically a theme park for young children ages 2-10, with a water ride, runaway train ride, tractor ride, Santa sleigh ride (yes, in august) as well as lots of play areas and kid sized houses based on pretty much all the nursery rhymes. It is a good place for kids – it is rather expensive at £10 per person for anyone over 2 years old!

We lost Oli for the first time, he’d wondered off into a the Santa ride. He wa only gone a minute, but it’s enough to make you think! There were loads of kids about – they’d just brought out some people in bear suits for photos and it was massively crowded. One for the learning curve me thinks.

Day off from training today, and just tucking into a stir fry resisting the temptation to reach over and pull a beer out of the fridge – doing well so far, especially as everyone else in the street seems to be on takeaways – yes you chris!

Had a wonderful donation of £150 from a guest at the hotel today. I’m absolutely blown away by people’s generosity. Thank you so much, if you are reading this.
